Proposal - Check!

In 2010, one of my New Year's Resolutions was to start writing a book.

Check.

In 2011, one of my New Year's Resolutions was to finish my book.

Check.

For 2012, one of my New Year's Resolutions is to land an agent or, failing that, start looking into self-publishing.

In progress.

While I've sent query letters out to a few agents, I've been kind of avoiding (OK, completely avoiding) any agents that include "proposals" as part of their submission guidelines. And I've been putting off creating a proposal like a college essay done the night before it's due.

But I've done it. I've finally done it. And the word according to Word is that I spent 799 minutes editing it and it is 46 pages and 9663 words long. This is just the proposal, people. Jheesh, no wonder I put it off for so long.

Ridiculous.

Anyway, now I have no more excuses, and I must proceed with submissions with reckless abandon.

Shoot, now I have nothing to hide behind.

Yikes.

A Tip For Tuesday

Here's a tip for some guilt-free yumminess:

Found this on Pinterest and tried it last night. I gotta tell ya', it's good. My blender wasn't acting up to speed (no pun intended), so I added alittle skim milk to help it smooth out the frozen banana, but I don't have a problem with dairy, so I didn't care about adding milk.

I guess it was originally from Tumblr(*), and so here are the instructions from the posters:

rouxeats:

Chocolate-Banana “Ice Cream”

Freeze a banana, then combine with 2 tbsp cocoa powder and blend until smooth and creamy. Dairy-free, 110 calories. But most importantly: frigging delicious, because seriously dudes, bananas and chocolate were meant to be together <3 I use a frozen banana with a spoonful of peanut butter & half a glass of milk for a morning smoothie. This sounds delicious. I need to pick myself up some more bananas…

My New Fitness Friend

I'm a couple weeks over due for a Sunday Social, but I just stumbled upon this cool weight loss tool that's FREE that I thought I would share. If any of you are at all like me, you've started a new list of resolutions, goals, whatever you want to call them, and getting in shape is at the top of that list. Note, I did not say "diet", nor did I mention "weight loss", because those terms are so 2011, aren't they? It's all about getting fit, getting in shape, right? Yeah, whatever.

I don't care how healthy I am, whine, I just wanna look good!

Call me shallow, I can take it.

Anyway, I thought of going back to Weight Watcher's b/c I've had a lot of success with them in the past, but I didn't need one more thing I would have to schlepp myself to. Checked out the online service they offer, no schlepping, but then the cheapskate in me started to fuss over paying for something I did over my computer. So I surfed around a bit and voila, I found this WebMD service that looks just right.

You have to sign up for an account, but then once you do you just input your start weight and your goals and your activity level and yadda-yadda, you know the drill, and it tells you how much you should eat and exercise per day to meet your goals. It lets you track it, all, too, b/c you can just input stuff and it will calculate how many calories consumed or burned or whatever and plot everything on a nifty little graph that will sing to the OCD component of your persona. I haven't even started it yet but I'm already lovin' it.

Wait.
I'm lovin' it.
Oooh, I could really go for some fries.

Hmmmm. We'll see how I do with this.

Wish me luck!
